Administration and Operations
The Advisory Board relies heavily upon a strong network of staff members that focus on the day-to-day running of the firm, including Creative Services, Finance, Information Systems, Career Management and Meeting Planning. In line with the company ethic of service, these departments and staff members work closely in conjunction with others across the firm, ensuring that we treat each other with the same respect and spirit of generosity that characterizes our service to members.
Career Management
The Career Management team assists and supports the Advisory Board’s most valuable resource—our employees through recruiting, benefits, and training and development.
Recruiting
The recruiting team brings new talent into our organization and strives to enhance employee job satisfaction through targeted initiatives. The recruiting team develops pipelines and shepherds candidates through the process.
Benefits
The benefits team oversees the day-to-day management of all company benefits, works on innovative strategies to serve the firm’s employees, and manages the HR administration process, including development of company policy.
Training and Development
The training and development team oversees a robust set of offerings from new-start orientation sessions to leadership development to business and technical skills.
Finance
Serving as a strategic partner to the company’s executive team, the Finance team oversees financial planning, reporting, and analysis exercises and manages purchasing, taxes, payroll, and expense reimbursements, as well as the collection of member contributions.
Senior Analyst, Finance
A Senior Analyst within the Finance team is responsible for data analysis and company performance and operations modeling and works closely with directors within the department who are responsible for budget setting, expense approvals, and earnings forecasts.
Information Systems
The Information Systems Department supports staff firm-wide with a sophisticated technology environment that includes a dynamic network environment, the latest in telecommunications equipment, intranet and extranet content delivery, and cutting-edge applications that are continually updated to support the company’s business needs. The IS team works in close collaboration with each department and the organization at large to continually enhance service to our members.
User Support Specialist, Support/Desktop Operations
The User Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact with the IS department for staff across the firm. Typically an entry-level opportunity, most User Support Specialists are hired directly out of college without technical degrees, placing emphasis on customer service over pure technical knowledge. A significant learning curve with the opportunity for advancement is evident here, with plenty of training and mentoring opportunities within the department and across the IS team.
Operations
The Operations Department is charged with ensuring that the entire firm runs smoothly and that all Advisory Board staff are properly equipped to serve our membership. The Operations positions are employee-facing roles, charged with providing specialized solutions and essential back office services including facilities, space management and a host of other internal operational needs.
Office Services Coordinator
The Office Services Coordinator plays a critical role by expertly serving all ABC employees with key services including mail delivery, inbound and outbound shipping, office moves, conference space setup, and maintenance of all printers and copiers. The Office Services Coordinator position provides unique opportunities, as it interfaces with all levels of the firm.
Meeting Planning
The Meetings Department directly serves the thousands of members who participate in our national meetings and teleconferences. Attendance at our meetings is the most important means for our members to access Advisory Board research, build relationships with other members, and personally experience the unique service and spirit of generosity that are hallmarks of the Advisory Board. The team plans, organizes, stages, and hosts these events in close collaboration with our colleagues across the firm to ensure a superior learning experience for each person who attends.
Creative Services
The Advisory Board Company’s team of talented graphic designers is responsible for the branding, development, design, editing, and production of Advisory Board materials. The group handles hundreds of research, marketing, leadership, informational, and educational products across the year, reaching Advisory Board members via print, Web, and video. The teams works closely with executives, authors, and other colleagues across the firm in a highly collaborative process with the shared aim of presenting the firm’s work to our members with beauty, clarity, and usability.
